Colour that comes from spectroscopy.
A species is coloured from its observed emission lines in the NIST Atomic Spectra Database. The source and its retrieval date are on screen. Of the 118 elements, 98 take a visible or composite colour, 1 is shown in labelled false colour, and 19 have no lines and are drawn dashed. The conventional CPK colours are one click away.
